A Wedding At Newsham: A Real Story
~ Tuesday 16 June 2026 ~
Across Newsham, and at Thirsk Lodge Barns, weddings are not just about how a day looks, but how it feels. They are shaped by simple moments, thoughtful details and a sense of ease that allows everything to unfold naturally. Molly and Conall’s wedding is a perfect reflection of that approach.

For Molly and Conall, what started on a dating app quickly became something much more significant.
Despite growing up in the same city and sharing mutual friends, their paths had somehow never crossed. Then came a first date and, with it, a feeling neither of them could quite explain.
Four years later, on a winter walk through Dublin’s St Stephen’s Green, that feeling became something certain when Conall proposed.
Fast forward another eighteen months and the pair found themselves standing together at Thirsk Lodge Barns, celebrating not only their wedding day but their sixth anniversary together.
A date that felt entirely meant to be.

By that point, they had already spent months thinking about how they wanted their wedding to feel; not extravagant, not overcomplicated, just a day that reflected who they were as a couple.
Their styling reflected that thinking.
Soft florals, candlelight, foliage and carefully chosen details that created a warm and intimate atmosphere.

At Newsham, we often talk about hospitality being found in the small things.
The personal touches.
The thoughtful details.
The moments that carry meaning.
Molly and Conall's wedding was full of them.
Speaking about her experience Molly explained that throughout the day, the team at Thirsk Lodge Barns helped everything feel effortless. Quietly present, carefully attentive, and always one step ahead, allowing the day to unfold exactly as it should.

In the end, it wasn’t about scale or spectacle. It was about feeling. About being surrounded by the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
A reminder that when it all comes together, it doesn’t need to be anything more than that.
