Food at Newsham
Great food begins long before it reaches the table
It starts in healthy soil, thoughtfully farmed fields and kitchen gardens shaped by the seasons. The same care that goes into nurturing the land flows through every ingredient, every menu and every meal - creating food that is deeply connected to place and designed to be shared, celebrated and remembered.
Introducing
From field to fork
Honest ingredients. Memorable feasts.
Led by acclaimed chef and food writer James Ramsden, Peckish
sits at the heart of the Newsham food experience.

From beautifully curated wedding feasts and intimate private dining to seasonal suppers, tasting events and special occasions throughout the year, Peckish is designed to bring people together around exceptional food.
Guided by what is growing on the estate and sourced as locally as possible, every menu reflects the abundance of the season and the richness of Yorkshire's produce. Ingredients are chosen with care, prepared with restraint and served in a way that allows their natural character to shine.

At its heart, Peckish is one of the clearest expressions of the wider Newsham philosophy - celebrating the connection between land, food and hospitality through experiences that linger long after the final course.

Food philosophy
“At Newsham, we let the seasons lead the way. Here, we couldn't be closer to the source of all the ingredients we use. For me, it doesn't get any better than using those seasonal ingredients, cooking them thoughtfully and sharing great food around a table with the people you love.”
